Bohemian Wedding Traditions

It is a traditional Bohemian wedding custom, for the couple getting married, to give each other specific wedding presents. The groom gives his bride a rosary, a prayer book, a fur hat and a customary wedding ring. To protect his wife's chastity, he also give's her a girdle with three keys.

The bride gives her groom a shirt that has been sewn with gold thread and colorful silks and a wedding band.

Before a traditional Bohemian wedding ceremony, it is customary for the best man to cover the groom with the bride's cloak to keep the marriage free of evil spirits.
